Like other Android powered smartphones, such as Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, you can easily cast screen from your Huawei mobile to a Windows computer with the built-in option, no third-party apps required. This feature may have different names across different devices, like screencast, cast, mirror, wireless projection, etc.

Connect to the same Wi-Fi

In order to cast screen from Huawei phone to Windows desktop or laptop, you have to firstly connect both devices to the same Wi-Fi network.

Turn PC into wireless display

On the computer, Windows 10 or Windows 11, you can use the Connect app or wireless display feature to turn the computer into a wireless external display for your mobile phone.

On Windows computer, click the Start menu, then choose Settings > Apps > Optional features, see if you can find ‘Wireless Display’ feature here, if not yet enabled, add this optional feature.

Go to Settings > System > Projecting to this PC, click on the ‘Launch the Connect app to project to this PC’ link. The Connect app opens and says the computer is ready for you to connect wirelessly.

On Huawei phone, go to Settings > Device connectivity > Wireless projection, your smart phone will start searching for external display and list your PC name in the Wireless projection dialog, simply tap on your PC name to start projecting or mirroring your Huawei phone to PC monitor.

Mobile phone can’t find computer and troubleshooting

Make sure both your Huawei mobile and Windows PC are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Same Wi-Fi name (SSID) does not mean same network, as many dual-band wireless routers allow users to configure both 2.4G and 5G Wi-fi networks with same SSID and password. See how to find out if a Wi-Fi network is 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz here. Make sure no proxy server configured or activated on either computer or phone.

If you see the UIBC prompt when you initiate the wireless projection on Huawei phone, it means you will be able to control the projecting device, phone or tablet, from the receiving device, TV or computer. During projection, it lets you control your Huawei phone using a keyboard, mouse, remote control, or other input devices that are connected to the receiving device.

What devices are supported by Huawei Wireless projection?

Miracast supported devices, like Miracast-enabled smart TVs, TV boxes, Miracast-enabled computers. So you can not only mirror Huawei phone to PC, but also those smart TVs that support Miracast.
