Once connected to Wi-Fi, your phone gets two IP addresses, an internal one and an external one. Any device connected the same Wi-Fi network has its own IP address in the local network. All your devices share the same public IP address assigned by your ISP. To troubleshoot local network issues, you may need to find out your devices’ IP address. Both router and local IP address can be found right inside the phone settings. For public IP address, simply use some third-party online IP address lookup services. We will use a LG phone in the demo to show you how do view your IP. Finding out your IP address on other Android mobile phone involves the same or similar procedure.
Find local IP address on LG phone – Method 1
Connect your phone to Wi-Fi from Settings or the drop-down menu from the top of your phone screen. Then go to Settings > Wi-fi to show the list of all reachable Wi-fi networks. Tap on the Menu button(three dots) at the top right corner, choose Advanced Wi-Fi from the pop-up menu. Then scroll down to the bottom to view the IP address of your mobile phone.

There might be both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses listed. The short one that looks like 192.168.x.x is the IPv4 address.

A public IP address is an IP address that can be accessed over the Internet. To find out your IP address in the internet, simply browse a IP address lookup website such as https://www.whatismyip.com/ or https://whatismypublicip.com. Other related information may also be presented when you do a public IP address lookup, like your country, region, city, latitude, longitude, ISP, etc.
